The Artist
I'm Gemma, an award winning pet portrait and wildlife artist from Surrey, South East England. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by animals. From a very young age art and animals have been been a huge part of my life. Largely self taught I studied art at secondary school and continued my art education with keen interest studying fine art.
Most days you can find me at my easel painting or drawing away but on the odd occasion at a dog show with my beloved dogs and good friends. I am a huge animal lover, no matter what their size. I have been painting and drawing professionally for over 12 years. I feel extremely lucky to be able to combine my love of animals and painting to enable me to do my dream job. I work in oil paints and pastels. Originally I started out just using graphite pencils but then found my love of pastels and paint. My work has been sent all over the world.

Over the years I have had many great accomplishments and honours. My latest accomplishment is winning a top placing in an international art competition.

If you commission me to do a pet portrait - I will paint not only a true likeliness but I will also make sure that their character shines through every stroke. Many of my clients say that I capture the essence and soul of their pets in my artwork.
I love working at my easel and having my dogs lay by my feet whilst I work.
Doing something you are so passionate about and love is a dream come true.
